Teach me how to know you 

  Study Directives   8/25/19  Select a book of the bible to study then study chapter to verse – relax and take your time getting to each verse and chapter..when you feel (a) keen to wait in your spirit (between scripture) it’s because you are sensing the unknown to be made known to you of the Word of God. There’s something you need to know and experience at this point. Your understanding of a revelation is the optimum experience.    KJV John 6:63  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.   NIV John 6:63  The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you–they are full of the Spirit and life.   Read the introduction -background of the writer of the book you are studying  It helps to know something about the writer. Knowing the history helps us to also see the progression of the work of the Lord; how he used so many people to bring the Word to us today.    The Holy Spirit will lead and reveal the knowledge the Father would have you to know. You will actually receive insight from your past, present and future at the same time. The Holy Spirit is so powerful in His teaching that you will understand the sequence of the revelation revealed; meaning you will be able to place the insight where it belongs in the past, in the present and in the future.     Outline Sequence  Study recommendations:  Luke, St. John, Acts  Then decide the best time to study to make it easy for yourself. 

1. pray about the time   
2. or try a couple of times to find what works for you.
3. Commit yourself to the time of study you chose. This is important because you are BONDING with the LORD. This is His and your time; you are creating your worship-space forming an atmosphere that you can take anywhere. Also, your teacher will be the Holy Spirit. You will learn so much spiritually for your spirit-filled life. You’ll 

1. Learn/Understand
2. Grow/Change
3. Denying your flesh is strengthened but never perfected, but always maturing 
4. You will learn what consistency looks like and what it brings to you

 

1.  Be prepared for major interruptions/distractions that come in the form of: 

 

1. Fear   5. Family
2. Sickness 6. Work
3. Weariness 7. Busyiness ( I forgot to do) 
4. Pain 8. Doubt

 

5. You yourself will struggle to study, it’s not going to be easy; and you will always struggle. It just gets a little easier to Fight off the distractions; there will always be interruptions you will have to choose and fight.

    Outline Format  Read the chapter 3 times….

1. to get familiar/comfortable with the chapter 
2. read again and pull out words you don’t understanding – define and write the meaning out
3. then read for understanding 

Write it out

1. Write out each scripture – in King James Version  
2. Check first and second scripture references for where understanding is needed
3. Write the scripture out in (2) translations or until you get it or has many translations needed
4. The Word that you defined write the meaning out under the scripture 
5. Write out your discerning understanding – what it means but your understanding must line up with what the Word is saying…(if it doesn’t keep studying it will come to you) 

  Understanding Write out

1. Observation – What is the passage about?
2. Interpretation – What is it saying to me?
3. Application – How does this apply to me today
4. Now write what you have learned about the Character of JESUS…

  In this process the Holy Spirit will drop insight just for you…(as I mentioned above about a keen wait in the spirit between scripture) this is a guarantee that you will sense an aura of an impression upon your understanding heart – telling you what it means; how to understand it and what the Lord is saying to you in His Word….. Note I’ve studied sometimes and in one scripture the Lord revealed something from my past, that blessed me in my present and confirmed something of my future (a supernatural burst of an explosive revelation)    Example  Luke 1:1   King James Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, New Living – Many people have set out to write accounts about the events that have been fulfilled among us. Amplified – Since [as is well known] many have undertaken to compile an orderly account of the things which have been fulfilled among us [by God] Reference Scripture – John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. Define – Order –  authoritative command  Declaration – a formal statement or announcement  Inspire Revelation– (the voice of the Lord Speaks here write it out_____________________________ My understanding: God used so many people to receive His teaching so that we would come to understand, receive and believe and become children of the Kingdom.  What I learned – I learned that God really doesn’t have special people He just speaks to He speaks to everyone that wants to hear His voice.  (if you are willing – He is willing)    Returning to your study frequently to daily: Making your study apart of your lifestyle (study, eat, sleep, work, play, live, study)   You will not finish the chapter in one setting (you don’t have to rush this is your life’s journey) just like one day at a time – one bible study at a time. Once you return read the chapter through again and then return to the scripture where you left off…the Word becomes more dazzling, vibrant and more impactful with understanding…because you are going over now what you have  learned and have received inspiration. It’s a must to always reread this is where you pick up your dance moves between you and the Word…it’s extraordinary. And, the knowledge of Power stirs and sizzles in your hands, your feet and it awakens your praise ….   And when you read your notes, Powerful.     Questions: You will have questions in your heart that you are not able to articulate. They will be answered as you study; the answer will come out from nowhere and blow your mind.    And, always ask questions. It’s an encouragement to your soul.
