Why Pray

First I must tell you what prayer has done for me: (growth in prayer opens up a world of possibilities)

Prayer has regulated-controlled my mind and given me the confidence that God hears me when I pray.  It has assured me of who I am and in whom I am praying too. It has taught me to share my most inner thoughts with God and has broken down barriers that (I) created about myself and others. It has loosed the pain of fear from me, and it has given me a freedom to be real and to face my good, my bad and my ugly. And, it has allowed me to experience peace and joy. And, unbeknown to me, prayer changed me in ways that have made me desire more of God; to find that His way is far more livable, desirable, and exciting than I could have planned. You don’t learn this until you deny yourself (not my will) and see what’s behind the (door) of God’s plan. The more I prayed, the more I began to see and to live out my life through my prayers. You see, (it didn’t make sense to me to live like I hadn’t prayed), So I followed my prayer life, past my flesh-feelings, past my mind, past my past, and even past my future because if I could see it then doubt it; I had to pray pass it, and walk towards it. God’s plan is phenomenal and extraordinary. He combines your creative work into His Work; as He opens doors that no man can shut. I promise you God’s plan is most enjoyable once we make it through the ruff spots and there may be plenty. Oh, but when we get on the other side from what has shaped us to receive His promise it is most enjoyable.

God’s plan is not what we have imagined, it doesn’t come close. And with the study of God’s Word and prayer our lives roll out into a life that speaks the scripture Luke 8:16 –  No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light……………………..This is what prayer has done for me…  Exposure in prayer is freeing in so many ways that open doors of courage.

Why You Should Pray

Prayer changes you and gives you a better life that builds a strong relationship with Jesus Christ, God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Prayer is the beginning of your new birth from your old nature to a new life in Jesus Christ. You are now asking for things according to your new life fitting for you as a Christian. So you pray a prayer like the sinner prayer that gives God control over your life; as you are now praying according to your walk with God. So begins the change and the reshaping of our heart to ask in prayer…

So you ask God to bless you – granted this (ask) is unfolding into a spiritual prayer request. The words of prayer are no longer a subject matter, or a thought, or something on your heart.  They are now words that belong to God; transformed into a spiritual matter. That is in His Hands to answer in His way and not the way we have imagined. It’s not an easy thing not to imagine how we want our prayers to be answered; but be of good cheer they will be answered. God He hears you and sees your heart.

NLT Revelation 8:3-5 3 Another angel came and stood at the altar. He held a cup made of gold full of special perfume. He was given much perfume so he could mix it in with the prayers of those who belonged to God. Their prayers were put on the altar made of gold before the throne. 4 Smoke from burning the special perfume and the prayers of those who belong to God went up before God out of the angel’s hand. 5Then the angel took the cup of gold. He filled it with fire from the altar and threw it down on the earth. There was thunder and noise and lightning and the earth shook.

Your Prayer

Who am I?

This question comes from a heart of doubt and uncertainty. But, there’s a tug going on inside that’s answering the question, but you can’t believe it; You are Great! But life is showing you a different picture by what you are living and experiencing. And, it’s hard to believe that you are great. So to prove to you that you are great. God shows you by bringing you through what you are experiencing in your life. You then wake up and realize you are still here. You come to know that you can make it and that you can try again. Now you know that you are great and you can live. This isn’t a natural occurrence it’s a Spiritual transformation:

Our paths sometimes reveal what we are capable of getting through and sheds light on what you can do. The process to getting to this understanding that you can make it in Jesus Name comes with a process of life when you don’t give up on God.

What should I be doing?

This question comes from a heart of curiosity who hopes to walk in faith and please God.

Sometimes what we have come through will reveal what we should be doing. You can almost see it but it’s taking too long to come clear. So you embrace the easiest thing first or a suggestion by someone or we continue in whatever we are doing. But, God who is merciful towards His purpose and His plan being found in us will continue to shed light and lead us to our purpose. John 14:12. Sometimes it’s an ask, sometimes it’s something that gives us joy or excitement, or something from a vision seen or something you feel inspired to do or just want to do. But, to get into this frame of mind will take a little talk with Jesus. Proverbs 16:3

Both of these questions release the planning of a spiritual process in prayer, because every step of the way requires you to talk to God.

Once our prayer is before the Lord, Mark 11:24 This takes some work, believe that you receive them; He answers by rebuilding you on the inside. He answers by unfolding your prayer with the plans He has for you.

Listen to what Jesus told Peter “ I am praying for you that your faith fail not”.

Sometimes when we pray and we don’t get it we think that we may not have had enough faith to obtain it from God. Not so, it’s maturing in your prayer life; this is why it’s work on the inside by changing your mind to believe The Word of God.

And, as we walk out our prayer life; some prayers are delayed, answered and some are not answered, and some build strong hope in us. But, when that prayer is answered it will blow your mind and change your thought pattern and change you at the same time. Because, it comes straight from Heaven into the life of the Believer. And, oh what a blessing to receive from God and be encouraged at the same time. God really does specialize in things that are impossible for us and things unimaginable but visual in our hearts…

Do you want to be changed, put in a prayer request? Your prayer request is the mechanism that changes your life from darkness into LIGHT.

And because we are not perfect and because we will fall short Christ has made Himself our Advocate. An Advocate is someone who speaks on our behalf and stands up for us.

1 John 2:1 – My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Why you should continue in Prayer

Flesh vs. Spirit  Galatians 5:16 – 18 KJV & NLT

KJV – For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

NLT – The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.

Why you should continue to pray, because when you continue to pray, you build up a continuance of wanting to pray; which will give spiritual strength for you to do so. It’s a battle to pray and sometimes it’s a discomfort. Because the flesh vs. the spirit is a force to be reckoned with; as you know we want to do what we want to do; the flesh, but the spirit man (born-again)  wants to pray and do the will of God. But God, who hears our humble cry and senses our humility pulling on His heart, breaks us away from our mindset (the flesh) to be transformed into a spiritual mindset to pray as we should.

Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Continuing in the Why

Prayer (is) your relationship with Jesus Christ. Some things are only one way; like Salvation and Prayer. Salvation to have a prayer life and prayer to receive Salvation. It’s just how it is! – meaning this is the only way to Jesus Christ; your personal relationship with Him is your prayer life. It’s required with Salvation because it’s the first thing you do to begin your relationship with God. You cannot have a relationship with Jesus Christ without PRAYER!

Colossians 1:8-10KJV

8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.

9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Praying Faith

We must believe to have Praying Faith and we must believe in what we are saying in prayer.

Father, in the Name of Jesus I ask these things according to your promises to me.I know that you will lift my burdens when I ask. And, I know that when I commit my work, my interest, and anything that I put my hands too it is blessed; when I commit them to you.  I am in need of____________ and I want ______. And I pray for (mention a person, or a cause). I know that you will provide and make away for me and I know that you hear me when I pray. Thank you for blessing me with the gift of faith, hope and trust in you; I hope this is your will; not my will but thy will be done.

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 Corinthians 1:20 KJV  For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

NLT – For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.

Promises

Psalm 91:14-16 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Matthew 11:28-30

28. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

John 16:12-15

12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
